Vicky Papadimitriou, Vice President, Thessaloniki Convention Bureau – Managing Director, SYMVOLI Conference & Cultural Management (GR)

With an academic background on Archaeology & History of Art (BA), Cultural Management/Policy and Museum Studies (MA), she has been professionally involved in the design and management of events for more than 25 years, managing one of the leading events management companies in Greece, SYMVOLI Conference& Cultural Management.
Having previously worked for cultural organisations in the field of Communication, Marketing, Fundraising and Project Management (ex TIFF, MoMUS, Sani Festival), Vicky has been leading SYMVOLI’s team since 2007, counting numerous collaborations with international organisations, and undertaking the design and implementation of events in Greece and abroad (ex Berlin, Malta, Naples, Ljubljana, Budapest, Lyon, Antwerp).

During the past 10 years, she has persistently built up SYMVOLIs Cultural Management sector, enhanced the range of international collaborations in Europe and USA, and developed innovative projects focused on cultural tourism and cultural planning.

Believing in the important culture for tourism and its determinant role in regional development, she has participated in related academic research, has supported the establishment of the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, and has been an active member of its BoD since 2014. In the framework of hallmark collaborations, she has been appointed General Director of the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece, General Director of the Theophano Foundation, as well as coordinator of the MATAROA project.

Vicky balances long working hours with valuable time spent with friends, listening to good (jazz) music, travelling and road tripping to new destinations. Most of all, she loves to think life as a non-linear path: latest detour was getting back to studying Museology and doing research on city museums, migration heritage and oral history.
