(RE)POSITIONING THE MUSEUM OF TOMORROW

ONLINE, 1– 3 DEC 2021

The International CoMuseum Conference 2021 entitled (Re)Positioning the museum of tomorrow, which took place online on 1-3 December 2021, explored the repositioning of museums and cultural institutions through a human-centered approach, drawing upon new tools, skills and leadership models.

As the global community attempts to tackle the challenges of social inequality, the climate emergency, and health and safety, museums and cultural organizations are thinking about their new position in the world. Some of the topics that the CoMuseum 2021 addressed include:

– sustainability and digital strategies;
– the future of collections,
– curating and storytelling;
– the social impact of museums and cultural organizations;
– the role of museums in the climate crisis.

During the eleventh installment of this annual conference, 47 professionals from international museums and cultural organizations, artists, civil society representatives, educators, and academics examined the above issues through keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, workshops and masterclasses.
