We are in this Together!
Dear friends,
We hope that you are all well, healthy and safe!
As our global village is fighting the worse collective crisis of the past decades, we wanted to reach out to you –our museum and cultural community– to share our thoughts, our challenges, our worries, our humor, our resources and our ideas. The cultural world is perhaps best equipped to find meaning at times of distress, times of fear and unprecedented change, and offer wellbeing, relief, calmness, peace of mind and laughter– as it has done many times in the past. And that world of the arts, of culture and education is what we would like to continue supporting and empowering at its very base, all of you, cultural professionals!
With that intention in mind, the family of the CoMuseum, while #stayinghome and teleworking, prepares for the 10th anniversary edition of our Museum Conference. Although we were planning to send out our first newsletter in the beginning of the summer, to announce the next conference and the exciting new identity we are planning to introduce, we decided to reach out now, firstly because we think about all of you a lot; and, secondly, because we would like to ask you how we could be of service to you during these turbulent times.
We have some things in mind but would truly like to hear from you, so please send us your thoughts and ideas by filling in the form here.
In the meantime, we thought it timely to share with you the 2018 presentation by Adam Rozan, Director of Program and Audience Development, Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, talking about the ways museums and cultural organisations respond to crises; quite prophetic – don’t you think?
It is a great honor that Adam Rozan has accepted our invitation to be part of the CoMuseum International Advisory Committee, a small group of experts helping us shape the future of the Conference.
Thank you Adam!
With some interesting information and links below, we leave you for now, knowing that we will get through this united.
