MORE THAN
A CONFERENCE

Beloved CoMuseum friends,

We are back in action, ready to face the new reality and, as you will see below, already with quite a few interesting plans ahead – including our main conference in December!

But before we reveal our Fall activities, we would like to express our deepest thank you towards all the museums and cultural organisations that so generously participated in our Instagram Take Over during this summer, strengthening and enlarging our CoMuseum community: Nikos Kazantzakis MuseumOhi Paizoume Performing ArtsIonian University MuseumMind the MuseumHellenic Children’s MuseumArt Hub AthensB&W Theocharakis Foundation, and Jewish Museum of Greece. ✌️✌️✌️

The CoMuseum International Conference will take place as scheduled, December 2-4, 2020 and will have a hybrid format, combining digital and on-site sessions, and offering keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops for cultural professionals. We will be able to share more about the program soon, and of course, we will be following all COVID19-related developments and government measures to ensure any on-site sessions, with physical presence of participants, meet the necessary safety and health requirements.

2020 has been the year of disruption, and we move forward in our planning ready to make any necessary adjustments. We hope you will stay with us through this new phase and we are always open to your feedback on both format and content of our conference.

But until December, we are excited to share with you our upcoming events below.  We look forward to seeing you soon, digitally and/or in-real-life!

Have a nice season!!

CoMuseum DIGITAL EVENTS

The International Conference CoMuseum organises a series of digital conversations entitled “Leadership in Challenging Times” with local and international experts from museums and cultural organisations. This series of discussions convened by the CoMuseum main partners invite counterpart institutions and close collaborators to engage in a reflection on how the field of art, culture and education has been affected by the pandemic, how we can come out of the crisis safe and strong, and how we can rethink cultural leadership and reimagine the role and future of cultural organizations.

The first Leadership Talk entitled “Managing Cultural Institutions” hosted and curated by Anastasia Andritsou, Director of the British Council in Greece, will focus on managing European cultural organisations in Greece and on ways to confront the crisis. The discussion is in collaboration with EUNIC. It will be held digitally on 17 September 2020 at 17.00 in English.

Registration for this event is necessary and you can find more information here.

The series is organised by the CoMuseum’s main partners, the Benaki Museum, the British Council and the U.S. Embassy Greece.

NEWS – ANNOUNCEMENTS

The CoMuseum in Denkraum – Good Life & Sustainable Cities 2020 6 – 9 October 2020

The CoMuseum has been invited to participate in “Denkraum – Good Life & Sustainable Cities 2020”, an event series, hosted in Amsterdam, Athens and Madrid organized by the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt in partnership with Impact Hub. These events bring together 50-60 leaders from the private, public, and civic sectors to explore how European cities can address environmental, economic, and social challenges.

We would like to represent the CoMuseum community in this discussion, bringing your questions, ideas and suggestions around the challenge to the table. We would like to kindly ask you to participate in this survey and help us centre the upcoming discussion around the topics that are of interest and value to you. We would appreciate it greatly if you answered the survey and sent us feedback until Friday 18 September.
